Making music does not only occur with humans: animals, such as birds and whales, utilise music for communication, creating one of the pleasures of life. People respond to the power of music in various ways - listening, singing and dancing. Connected to significant events in our lives, music is a part of our rituals. Mankind has made music by inventing methods to produce sounds with instruments. Creating music with others is pleasurable and designing new instruments to provide different musical effects is an ongoing process.
